Book Blog

The book I read was The Hunger Games. An example of Trancendentalism in this book would be Katniss and the Capitol. The capitol controls every and they say how the citizens of Panem can feel. Control what they watch and even what they eat. Everything that the Citizens do is controlled, or watched. But Katniss of District Twelve doesnt like how it is and does and thinks what she wants. She defys the capitol. In her everyday life she defies them by Hunting. She doesnt play by the rules in the Hunger Games. She does what SHE wants and not what the Capitol wants. This represents Trancendentalism because she is pretty much saying she wants to find her own truth. She is believeing what she finds is true and not what the Capitol tells her is true.

  1. I think this shows Katniss is very strong and brave to defy the government. What does the Capitol do about this retaliation?
